Written By Mero Mind on Sunday, July 29, 2012 | 6:50 AM

The doctors of Pokhara-based Manipal Teaching Hospital have called for an indefinite shutdown at the hospital from Sunday saying that the administration neglected their demands.
The patients coming from outside the city were hit hard by the strike as all the services of the hospital have been disrupted following the strike.
The staff members claimed that they had no alternative but to resort to the strike as the administration did not show any interest to address their demands even in three years time.
“The administration does not even follow the government’s order. We had no choice but to call for a strike,” said Deepak Koirala, one of the protestors. He claimed that the strike would not be called off unless their demands were fulfilled.

The agitating employees have demanded for hike in salary.
The agitating doctors had called for a strike at the hospital earlier claiming that there was discrimination against Nepali staffers. However, this time, both Indian and Nepali staffers have joined hand to call for hike in salary.
